This causes a vicious cycle that can lead to obstruction of the airways and susceptibility to viral and bacterial infections. Therefore, the nebulization of hydrating substances, such as hyaluronic acid, is the correct therapeutic approach that restores the level of hydration, giving relief to the irritated mucosa. The correct hypertonia of the solution also contributes to hydration: this allows the fluidification and removal of mucus.
